Holiday Card 2010

This year I was only able to make a few Christmas cards to send to family and friends. I made one card from acetate and the cute penguin die-cut from Quickutz. It's a little difficult to photograph clear cards, but here it goes...

I used acrylic paint on the edges for this one card, but left it off for the ones that I sent out in the mail as I wasn't sure which I liked better.

Anyway, this holiday season is flying by very fast. However, I can't wait to start scrapbooking my new bundle of joy Christian Max, just as soon as I get some time to do so :-)

Happy Holidays!

Gift Card Holders

Christmas Gift Cards..... that's all I had time to get for people this year as I was busy pushing a human baby out of my body...

I thought I would make these cute guys to house the gift cards that I will be giving away this year... Also gave some to my mother who requested a few for her gift cards.

I also was able to use some SEI holiday paper from last year that I love as well as some old Making Memories metal snowflakes... I love these and had a few left over from previous year projects.... what do you think?

PTI Blog Hop Post

This is my second post today. I wanted to share one example of the holiday tags I am making for this season.

I've made enough to use on my gifts as well as to package and give away as small gifts to co-workers. I've created an assortment of holiday tags to give away to my co-workers over the past couple of years and they love them. They love them so much they hoard them and rarely use them on their gift packages. They tell me they use them as ornaments on their Christmas Trees or as decorations on their mantel.

Supplies:
Stamps: Fillable frames #8, PTI
Paper: Poppy cardstock, PTI & Rustic Snowflakes PP, PTI
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Other: Nestabilities Pinking circles, Snowflake die-cut sizzix, Kaiser Rhinestones, Eyelets, and Tinsel

Happy Thanksgiving 2010

Hello everyone, I know it's been a long while since I've posted, but I'm back. I wanted to start of the day with a card that I made for a few friends to let them know I was thinking about them during this season of Thanksgiving.

Have a good Thanksgiving with your family and friends! Cherish every moment.

New Camera!!!!

I finally broke down and purchased a new digital SLR. It's a Cannon T1i. It's a serious camera, so I'm gonna need to take some lessons to get the full potential of the camera. Anywhooooo, I took my camera to visit my brother, his new house, and baby this past weekend. I have to admit even with the automatic setting, this camera is pretty awesome!!

My Brother and Daughter........

My Brother and Niece.........

All three......

My Mom & Nephew

Scrappin Days!

Here are a few more pages I've made.....

I made the majority of this page at Marisa's house a few weeks ago, but when I came home I added the ghost images from my very favorite Stampin Up set "Haunts & Howls" {retired}.

This second layout is my family at Gracie and Gaby's quincenera in 2008. Unfortunately Santos was not in the picture because he had to work that weekend and didn't join us for the trip down to Poplar Grove.

I love scrapbooking. I also love re-living the memories as I put the pages together.

Just Some Scraps

Today I had attempted to clean up my craft table a bit. However, when I saw all the scraps on my desk next to some quickutz dies, I felt the need to make some embellishments and then a couple of cards using my embellishments.

The cards came out very simple, but they were so quick to put together once the flower embellishments were put together. I love using my scraps because it makes me feel good to use up all those little pieces of paper joy!

I may have to make several more of these and give them away to my sister who doesn't have time to scrapbook (with 3 kids and a full-time job), but loves to be creative.

Enjoy and have a good nite...Janie

One Page Challenge

Today I issued myself a challenge, I wanted to make 4 3x6 cards from one sheet of cardstock. These were so quick and simple, I may have to rinse and repeat!

I also gave myself brownie points for using some old Amy Butler 3-D purse stickers I had for about a year. Finally I stamped a couple of the backgrounds with PTI sets (Borders and Corners Dot Spots, and Mega Guide Lines).

Scrapalooza

Last weekend I got together with the 'girls' , Tiffany and Marisa. We all spent the day scrapbooking which was a nice change from our normal routine of making cards. I was so proud of myself because I didn't take a ton of embellishments but rather focused on the pictures and enhanced the pages using patterned paper in many instances.

I did pick up a book on a trip to Archivers titled "Playing With Paper" which was a great inspiration. Here are a couple of pages from the day...

Where has the time gone....

since I last scrapbooked??????

I haven't had much time to craft lately with the new job and tax season, but I did manage to sneak in a couple of pages over the last few days... Although I enjoy making cards, I do forget how fun it is to scrapbook with pictures. Enjoy!
