A Paper-holic Confession...

Hi, My name is Janie and I am a paper-holic!

I love pretty paper and cardstock and have tons of it in my scrapbook stash.  I could probably wallpaper the entire neighborhood more than once with my stash of paper (oh-my).  Anyway, I wanted to issue myself a challenge in 2015 since I have so much lovely paper to work with.

Challenge - Use it Up!
I am a Stampin Up demonstrator and although I use mainly products from the most recent catalog, I do have a lot of cardstock and papers that has since retired.  My personal challenge is to use the paper to make cards and projects that I can make and either sell, donate, or give to friends & family.  This first challenge is to use cardstock from my retired stash - This first week, my color to use was Groovy Guava from Stampin Up.  Next weeks challenge is to use River Rock cardstock from Stampin Up. .  Two colors of cardstock I couldn't bring myself to sell or give away when I was cleaning out my craft room recently.

Here are the cards I made with Groovy Guava.. I actually made 10 cards ( 6 butterfly and 4 circles), but can easily duplicate for the remaining cardstock I have in my stash which is about 10 more sheets.  I also give myself snaps for using some old washi tape in my stash and some remaining banners from last year's sell-a-bration freebies along with the new Stampin Up Thinlits dies.

Tune in mid-week for samples of my cards using River Rock!

Enjoy and have a good week!

A challenge for my friends!!!!

Happy 2015!

I've been absent for a while, yes I know - sorry.

Anyway, I had plans to get to see some friends last weekend, but wasn't feeling well so couldn't go.  However, I wanted to give my friends a little gift and a challenge to boot.

I have made these matchbook mini scrapbooks from a tutorial from Kathy Orta and I love them.  I love them so much I wanted my friends to have one - but not have to worry about constructing the base of the mini scrapbook.  Therefore I made them one AND challenge them to style it with their choice of products and embellies.

Then, at our next gathering, we can share how each of us decorated our matchbook mini scrapbooks.  I am sharing one that I made and matted with Theresa Collins papers, just to give them a little peek as to what one of mine looks like.  It doesn't have any photos yet, but here it is...

SO, I am calling out Tiffany and Marisa to participate in this challenge.  I have mailed their matchbook mini scrapbooks today, so I hope they get in early next week.  I also hope they post pics on their blog once they are done.

Good luck girls and have fun decorating this scrapbook!

2014 Holiday Tags for Co-workers

Okay, I've been slacking a little on the posting, but I have been creating.  Here are some of the tag sets that I have made for my co-workers.  I will give them this along with a nice bottle of red or white wine.

Which are your favorites?  Wouldn't you like to receive one of these small packages....?

Pretty Box Set

They say imitation is the best form of flattery.  Well, I can tell you my entire project today was based on CASING projects from Pinterest and Youtube.  I will post the links for the original projects at the end of this post.

Anyway, I wanted to create a very "pretty" card set for a friend of mine at work.  I absolutely love how pretty and elegant this turned out.  Since I didn't just want to hand her the cards, I also found a pretty box to present the cards.

The box has a die cut window sealed with acetate. The die-cut was from the Labels collection set from Stampin Up.  The box fits 4-5 card with envelopes very comfortably.

MFT Weekly Challenge -9/26

Hello All,

Here is this week's challenge sketch from MFT:

And here is my version of the challenge:
I just received my most recent order from MFT and I purchased the Beautiful Baby stamp set, so I felt the need to use it on this sketch challenge.

I love the colors and think this will be a card I can create with different stamps for different occasions.
Enjoy!

MFT Weekly Challenge - Post #2

Hello All,

I am posting an all SU version of the MFT weekly sketch challenge.  I think the layout is great and conducive to any stamp set/paper stash.  I used the Ghoulish Greetings and Freaky Friends stamp and the Motley Monsters DSP all by SU.

Again, here is the sketch:

And here is my rendition of the sketch using all SU products:

I'm about to SNAP!

I'm about to SNAP!
At least that is what the stamp says!  I really liked this week's MFT challenge layout.

MFT Weekly Challenge

Here is the sketch:

I used MFT Picture This stamp set and all MFT cardstock Fuse Green, Blu Raspberry, & Primative White.  I also used some contraband from Stampin up! like the inks, ribbon and twine. I also found a scrap of pattern paper on my messy desk, that just happened to match, so I used it on this card.  Overall, I think the card came out pretty nice.

Here is my version...

Do Something That Makes You Happy

Hello,

I'm so excited to show you this picture frame art that I made with my stamping supplies.  I used 1 sheet of Patterned paper (I honestly don't remember the brand, but I think either Studio Calico or Pink Paisley) a few rub ons, and some small punches and glitter paper.  Anyway, I wanted something pretty and inspiring to mount somewhere in my craft room and so I came up with this awesome project.

It was so quick and easy to make and the results were amazing...

Everytime I see it, it makes me smile!

Enjoy.

Now and Forever *

Friday!  Yes!

I am off work today to attend my cousin's wedding.  Of course I have to make them a card, but I did not get a chance to do it last night so I had to come up with something quick this morning.  I looked through my stash and thought I would use some of my old Making Memories rub-ons along with an SU punch to make this quick, but very cute wedding card.  Also, since I'm sure the happy couple will be getting many cards with images of brides and grooms, cakes, hearts, etc... I thought I would create one that is less cliché.

Have a great weekend!

Ghoulish Greetings Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!

Over the weekend I made a card for the MFT Weekly Stamp Club Challenge.  I really liked the layout so I made a Stampin Up version of the card using two of the new holiday stamp sets (Freaky Friends #135158 & Ghoulish Greetings #136664).

I also used the new designer series paper Motley Monsters #135819 - I love this paper, it is so cute for halloween & little boy pages/cards.

Okay, here you go... I'm off to work now...

Oldie but Goodie

Hello,

I love this retired paper from SU - Kaleidoscope.  When it came out, I purchased several packs for a stamp camp that I hosted and since I had about a half of pack left, I thought I would make some cards to give away as gifts from the remainder.  I paired the paper up with a current stamp set - which is really my favorite (Fabulous Four #134174) and I really like how these came out.  This could be a very masculine card if you use masculine colors as I did in one of the samples below.

I am on a mission to use all of my patterned paper that has retired. Truthfully, it's been kind of hard since I really love all the new stuff, but I figure I can make the same style of cards with different PP to use with gift card packs.

Here they go...

Enjoy.

Celebrate You !

Hola,

So I just got back from the SU Convention a week ago, and am totally re-inspired to create and more importantly SHARE my creativity with friends and family.  I am planning a Stamp Camp for sometime in August and have 3 themes to plan for: (1) Clean and Simple Cards and (2) Project Life by SU and (3) Holiday Stamp Camp.

Here is a very simple yet cute and clean card using our new Washi Tape.  I can see this being a bit hit with my customers as this is a 5 minute card (at most)  I can see everyone whipping these up in a flash when they need it.  It also stars my favorite word sentiment stamp at the moment - Fabulous Four (item #134174).

Here it is:

Supplies Used:
Whisper White CS #100730
Strawberry Slush CS #131295
Beach House Washi Tape #133689
Silver Glimmer Paper #135314
Itty Bitty Accents Punch Star  #133787

Have a great Sunday!

Retro Fresh Cards

Hello,

Today I wanted to share some of the cards I made with Stampin Up's Retro Fresh DS Patterned Paper.  I love the colors and the washi tape that coordinates perfectly.

Enjoy.
